MDI Finance, the holding company behind Sri Lanka’s digital lender Loanme.lk, is now on Esketit. This gives our members the opportunity to finance MDI Finance business claim rights, which the holding company will then on-lend to its operational subsidiary Loanme.lk.

Founded by industry veterans Matīss Ansviesulis and Dāvis Barons, MDI Finance is led by an experienced management team with a dedicated one-country focus on Sri Lanka. Strategic decision-making, supervision, and reporting are handled from Riga, Latvia, ensuring strong governance and oversight.

Streamlined lending model

MDI Finance uses proprietary systems to manage loan applications, marketing performance tracking, and risk assessment. Loans range from EUR 23 to EUR 230, with instant disbursement through an automated payment gateway. This speed and convenience drive high customer retention – over 78% of customers return for another loan within a month.

Focus on a growing market

Sri Lanka, with its population of 22 million, is seeing fast growth in digital lending. The market  reached LKR 15 billion in 2024. Internet and smartphone penetration are high, and 95% of Loanme.lk applications come via mobile devices. With only five other digital lenders in the country, MDI Finance is well-positioned to grow its market share while maintaining low client acquisition costs.

What this means for you

Esketit users now have a chance to diversify into a profitable, well-managed fintech in a high-growth emerging market. By financing MDI Finance business loans, you are indirectly funding consumer loans through Loanme.lk – a model designed for scalability and efficiency. MDI Finance is also included in the Diversified strategy. We recommend reviewing your Auto-Purchase limits and considering an increase, as the available supply on the platform has grown significantly.

Update on Money for Finance

We also want to keep you updated on developments with Money for Finance (MFF), our largest lender on the platform.

After reviewing its funding strategy, MFF has chosen to gradually exit all P2P platforms. As a result, no new MFF claims will be listed on Esketit. This does not put your outstanding claim purchases at risk. We are working with MFF to ensure all outstanding claims are repaid in a timely and orderly way. MFF has been our most reliable lender from day one, consistently delivering on its commitments, and we expect that to continue.
